SOLAR ENERGY

Solar
panels are made up of many single solar cells. They gather the energy from sunlight and
convert that energy into electricity. P-n junction diodes in the solar cells
are the things that convert the sunlight’s energy into electricity. Energy is created when photons hit the
surface of solar panels. That energy pushes
electrons out of their usual orbit and the electric fields in the solar cells
yank those electrons that were knocked out of orbit. The electrons then flow
into a directional current. The more solar
cells in a panel, the more electricity the panel can produce. The higher
quality of the solar panel, the more electricity can be produced. This whole process is known as the
Photovoltaic effect. |
